Ethics:  The Gender-Expansive Body on the Table

An exploration of the myths and realities of working with trans and gender-diverse clients. People in the gender-diverse community report the highest rates of discrimination and barriers to healthcare, high comorbidity with neurodiversity, and they have the highest rates of suicide, substance abuse, and homelessness. Trans folk have some unique physical needs and emotional considerations at different points in their transition. Our goal here is to create and expand the group of safe practitioners that gender-diverse people can access and receive the bodywork they need. The class will include a panel discussion with members of the community where all students may ask questions and get real answers.
